Seikle Vabaks dewberry picking trip to Sorgu and Manija Islands
Sorgu and Manija are small Estonian islands in Pärnu Bay, near Kihnu Island. The islands are known for their untouched nature and large fields of dewberries. For Estonians, foraging is more than a hobby; it is a tradition that keeps us connected with nature!
If you are a forager at heart, then from the end of August to October is the perfect time to come to these islands for a berry-picking trip – that's when the dewberries ripen here! These dark and juicy berries are full of fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidants, supporting health and providing energy for the autumn season. Sorgu has an especially abundant growth of them because there is no regular ferry line, and there are few pickers.
During the trip, we will take you and your group to the island by kayak, boat, sailboat, or ferry (only to Manija), where you can pick berries, enjoy a light meal with fresh jam, and take a tour to discover the island's rich nature, cultural heritage, and coastal atmosphere.
Come to Sorgu and Manija – pick dewberries, gather experiences, and be part of the true island magic!
